Ans:- In the play ” The proposal ” Chubukov has presented three character Stephan Stephenovitch chubukov is one of them. He is a land owner and a sensible father of Natalya. He is a neighbour of lomov. When he come to know that lomov had come to propose to her daughter, he was extremely happy. As a sensible father, he addressed his son-in-law. With the word like ” my son” and ” my angel” etc. Sometime it seems that when he acted in an appriently insensible way when he was involved in quarrels with lomov. But other hand, he supported his daughter as a sensible father. When lomov was expelled, he controlled his mental agitation and fetched no more to secure his daughter’s future. At the end when lomov got his since back, Chubukov could not wait any longer and put lomov’s hand into her daughter.
